what is there for my kids?

The primary source of instruction for children in the Christian faith has always been the home.

Deuteronomy 6:7 says about the commandments, “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house.”

If we do not disciple our own children in the faith and lead by example, there is little chance they will grow up into adult Christians.

However, we do provide a fun Sunday School programme of activities for children during our Sunday worship service to supplement teaching in the home.

We believe that adults and children should worship together, and so the children are usually in with their parents for the first 20 minutes of the worship service.

The children then go through to the hall for their Sunday School groups for age appropriate teaching from the bible, with games, crafts, quizzes etc. We have Sunday School groups for ages 3-7, 7-9, 9-11 and 11-14. We also have a well equipped supervised crèche for under 3’s. If parents, do not wish to eave their child in the crèche, they may stay with them.

We also have other groups such as the Youth Fellowship which meets at the manse on 1st and 3rd Sundays at 7pm during term time. It is for any kids in S1 to S6. Some weeks will be social nights, such as watching a video, going ten pin bowling. Other weeks will be bible focused, looking at issues relevant to teenagers and what it means to follow Christ today.

The last Sunday in the month is a family service and we encourage young people in S1 – S6 to remain in church through out the service. This wil help them make the transition from Sunday School to adult church.

We have other groups for children and young people which meet during the week.
