sunday school The primary source of instruction for children in the Christian faith has always been the home. Deuteronomy 6:7 says about the commandments, “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house.” If we do not disciple our own children in the faith and lead by example, there is little chance they will grow up into adult Christians. However, we do provide a fun Sunday School programme of activities for children during our Sunday worship service to supplement teaching in the home. At the moment we follow a programme produced by Scripture Union.
We believe that adults and children should worship together, and so the children are usually in with their parents for the first 20 minutes of the worship service. The children then go through to the hall for their Sunday School groups for age appropriate teaching from the bible, with games, crafts, quizzes etc. We have Sunday School groups for ages 3-7, 7-9, 9-11 and 11-14. We also have a well equipped supervised crèche for under 3’s. If parents, do not wish to leave their child in the crèche, they may stay with them. Our Easter Sunday walk up by Overton reservoir organised by our Sunday School.
