when do we worship? For Christians, worship is an integral part of daily life. Worship is experienced through our daily time with God in prayer and reading the Bible, through family worship in the home, meeting with fellow believers in small groups during the week and serving God in our daily work and leisure time. We also gather together for worship on the Lord’s day, which is an opportunity to hear God’s word in preaching and teaching, to share in fellowship and celebrate communion. At the moment we serve tea/coffee after the last service of the month. Our services have a mix of traditional hymns and more modern hymns and choruses. We use a data projector to display the words of the hymns and use it for reflections in worship and for video clips. Regular Sundays Worship @ 11am Communion Sundays Worship @ 11am and 6.30pm We also have occasional evening services during the year. During a typical Sunday worship service, children and adults worship together for the first 20 minutes. The children then go to their Sunday School groups which cater for ages 3-14. We also have a supervised crèche for under 3s. There are certain times of the year when we have All-age worship services, with children and adults worshipping together for the whole service. These are usually at Easter, Christmas and at the Sunday School prize giving. Summer Programme – during the summer, there is no Sunday School, but we encourage children to come to worship, where they stay in the service for the first 20 minutes and there are fun activities for younger children in the hall. The Mount Kirk takes the protection and safety of children and young people very seriously and operates a child protection policy according to national Church of Scotland guidelines.
