Weddings

The Christian Church has always emphasised the importance of marriage, in that for the Christian it is the only legitimate place for sexual union. Marriage can also provide a healthy environment for the bringing up of children. In the bible, the marriage between a man and a women is something that is good and to be celebrated.

In his teaching on marriage, Jesus reminded his hearers that marriage has been central to human life since the creation:-

“Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

In Psalm 127:3, is says, “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” Marriage and bringing up children is something which in the bible is seen as a blessing from God and to be encouraged.

And so if you are a couple thinking about marriage at the moment, I would be only too happy to arrange to meet with you to discuss things further. You may want to check out our gallery section of the website for pictures of the church.

It is necessary however, for couples to commit to a period of marriage preparation. Part of the marriage preparation can be done in your own time, and arranged to fit around work etc. If you are contemplating marriage, it is also vitally important that you contact me at least 6 months before any possible wedding date. It is also important that you meet with me first, before booking a date with a reception venue. This is vital if you want to avoid disappointment.
